Questions people ask before starting

Do I have to be a veteran? No. Veterans and service members are very welcome, and so is any adult ready to feel steadier.

Do I need a diagnosis or a crisis? No. Many people start because something feels off.

Is it online? Yes. All sessions are by secure video for adults located in Massachusetts.

How much does it cost, and do you take insurance? I work with insurance through SonderMind and Headway. Self-pay is $90 for 45 minutes or $120 for 60 minutes.

What happens in the free consultation? A 15-minute call where you can tell me what’s going on, ask me anything, and decide whether I’m a good fit. You don’t have to share details.

How long does therapy take? It depends on your goals. We review progress regularly and adjust as we go.

Is what I say confidential? Generally yes, with legal limits. Exceptions include serious risk of harm to yourself or others, certain abuse or neglect reports, and court orders. I’ll go through this with you at the start.

Will using insurance affect my records or career? Using insurance means a diagnosis is submitted to your insurer for billing. Self-pay avoids that. If you hold a security clearance or have career concerns, ask me, and check the official guidance for your situation. I can’t give legal or clearance advice.

What if I’m in crisis? Call or text 988 (Veterans: press 1). In an emergency, call 911. I’m not an emergency service.

What’s your cancellation policy? First no-show is free, second is $50.
