Hi, I’m Dareck.

I’m a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) and a Navy submarine Veteran. I spent ten years in the submarine force, serving overseas and at home, and nearly four years as a VA social worker in homeless services (HUD-VASH).

Submarine life taught me how people function under pressure, in tight spaces, and far from home. VA work showed me what happens when support runs out, and how much can change when someone gets steady help.

I work with adults across Massachusetts by secure video, including veterans, service members, and anyone ready to feel steadier. People come to me with anxiety, anger, burnout, strain at home, or a stretch of life that’s changed on them, whether that’s leaving the service, a new job, or a loss.

I hold a master’s in social work from Boston College and am independently licensed in Massachusetts. My approach is steady, direct, and warm. I use CBT, DBT skills, narrative work, and a strengths-based lens to help you get clear on what you want to change and build tools that hold up in real life.

Why Bearing Well? Everyone carries something. The name holds two ideas: learning to bear it well, and having a well to come back to. Therapy here is meant to be both. It’s a steady place to return to for what sustains you, and a place to build the strength and skills to carry your load a little better. The aim isn’t to put it all down. It’s to carry it well, with somewhere dependable to return to.

Outside of work, I’m married with two kids, and most of my free time goes to making things with them. I do hobby woodworking and car repairs, play pick-up basketball, and have been a martial arts fan for a long time. I also serve as a deacon at my church, which is an important part of my life. It isn’t something I bring into sessions unless you do.
